It's no wonder people swear by Bikram Yoga for weight loss and overall body toning. I've wanted to try it for ages and finally worked up the courage to activate my voucher tonight.
While I wasn't flexible (or thin) enough to perform all the postures correctly, I certainly got an understanding of how hard you have to work to get them right. Combined with the heat it's like working out in a sauna. The more intense the posture, the more you sweat which I'm told expels bad toxins from your body.
Thankfully, I was aware that Bikram is not a relaxation yoga or I would've been in for a nasty surprise. I'm pleased to say however that I managed the full 90 minutes without passing out, falling over, injuring myself or throwing up and the instructor seemed to be pleased with my abilities at the end of the class. Unfortunately the class is quite expensive which means I can only go occasionally up I think I'll treat myself to a class when I really need a boost.
The verdict: Try it, it's hard work, it's sweaty and smelly but you'll have fun even if it's only laughing at yourself.

27. Use Bikram Yoga voucher February 9th 2012
Saturday 14 January 2012
29. Use Barefoot Bowls voucher January 14th
Some would argue that Lawn Bowls is a very competitive sport, but for converts to it's modern incarnation Barefoot Bowls it's a great way to relax with mates and a few drinks on a Saturday afternoon.
Shunning the traditional whites and donning outfits from jeans to party dresses twenty somethings and young families are a common sight at the local bowls club where frivolity ensures. The best shots are rewarded with cheers, drinks and congratulations and the worst met with untold ribbing and mocking.
This afternoon saw my friend Anne-Marie and I (ditched by to remain unnamed pikers) sending our best shots down the green. Our voucher was for 2 hours of bowls and by a lovely turn of events the generous young man keeping time and bar allowed us to bowl for a little over 4! A bottle of bubbles some spring rolls and calamari and lots of laughs later the "scores" we're tied and it was time to pack up so the next group of bowlers could take the green. After passing on some bowling wisdom to the new comers who were first timers we headed home having had a fantastic time.

100 Things in 366 Days - the idea
A friend of mine posted about a year ago that she was doing 101 things in 1001 days, it sounded really interesting but I know my attention span for these sorts of things is pretty much zero. With 2012 being a leap year I thought I might try my hand at a more condensed version and do 100 Things in 366 days. Some of the tasks are quite simple and require little commitment or effort others will take a little more to complete, it's supposed to be a challenge. The idea being to share the experience as I complete each task so I'll post about it here, hopefully it will be interesting to look back on when all Things are done and blogged about.
